Today a movie with plenty
of Australian actors in it
including the ones in this
update plus Nicky Whelan
and Jason Clarke also
appear (although I can't
find Nicky in the movie,
which isn't surprising as
actors pop in for a few
seconds then are never
seen again throughout the
movie). Knight of Cups is
seen through the eyes of a
movie director played by
Christian Bale who is in
the middle of the crisis
trying to work out what is
going on in his life with
a whirlwind of people
flitting in and out all
the times. Some have an
impact bigger than others,
but what does it all mean.
No, I mean what the fuck
is going on, bloody
Terrence Malick goes off
on such wild tangents that
it's hard to understand
the movie fully. Interest
also wanes too. Malick can
be unbelievably brilliant,
but this movie and To The
Wonder don't have anything
close to it. I s'pose this
all means something, I'm
just not sure what it is
in Knight of Cups as
there's very little time
during the movie to let it
all sink in at the pace it
runs at.
