American Pie 2 (2001) didn't stray to far from the original, reuniting the same cast laying the same characters. Everyone has finished their first year at college, and rent a house at the beach to pursue a summer of sex and fun. Stifler is still wealthy and still obnoxious, but is invited along because he has money. Shannon Elizabeth makes a short appearance, but keeps her clothes on. The breast and bun exposure comes from Denise Faye and Lisa Arturo as housemates that Stifler decides are lesbians. The two play along, and trade flashing for getting the boys to touch each other in increasingly bold ways. "And, one time in band camp" ... Alyson Hannigan has a larger part in this film, and is a truly funny actress.

Reactions were luke warm (6.8 of 10 at IMDB, while Ebert awarded 3 stars), and I have to agree, it is an ok sequel, but not very exciting. The plot, what there is of it, is rather predictable, and the characters, who were cute as High School seniors are just not as interesting as college students. I viewed the Unrated version, which is about 8 minutes longer, and contains some additional language, mostly in small scenes of improv that were cut to get the R rating out of MPAA, and are scattered throughout the film. I think it would be more correct to call it a director's cut than an Unrated version. The exposure is the same in both versions, and is limited to the "possible lesbians" scene. The DVD transfer is good, and there are more than enough special features to satisfy anyone, including several commentary tracks. Made for $30M, the US gross alone was $145M. C+.

Unmade Beds is an independent film from the 1980's, probably most famous because Debbie Harry played a character named Blondie. Debbie was really into the whole New York arthouse scene, palled around with Warhol and Basquiat, appeared in many cheapozoid experimental films.

I was reading the October, 2001 issue of Biography magazine, and I came across a profile on Kate Beckinsdale (pp. 14), the pop up box next to her profile is where they place the caption "Admirable Quality: Has refused to do onscreen nudity".

The blatancy of the pop-up window really caught my attention (it's not like it's buried in the words, it's right there next to her picture).

'No charges filed' as actress faces court date

Prosecutors have not yet filed charges against Winona Ryder over her alleged shoplifting and drug possession.

She is due to appear in court tomorrow following the incident in a Beverly Hills store in December.

The judge at the scheduled appearance can either continue the case in the absence of charges or dismiss the allegations.

Police in Beverly Hills said the actress had been arrested after she removed security tags from several items and left Saks of Fifth Avenue with £3,300 worth of clothes in her shopping bag.

Officers also allegedly found drugs for which she had no prescription when they arrested her.

The actress was handcuffed and taken to a police station after her arrest on December 12 and bailed until January 11, when she is due to appear at Beverly Hills Superior Court.

A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles District Attorney says no charges have been formally filed. She added: "The court date was one given to her by the police and is not a deadline for us."

The actress's lawyer, Mark Geragos, claimed the arrest had been "a misunderstanding" and that she had prescriptions for the drugs. He said Ryder was carrying the items between store departments.

An American television network reported a friend of Ryder had claimed the actress had gone outside to smoke when she was arrested.

An unnamed friend told E! network: "Winona had already purchased some things in the store.

"And she also had some things she was considering buying, when she went out of the store for a smoke - that's what happened. She was going to pay for the items."

Movie star Michelle Pfeiffer's wild little sister Dedee Pfeiffer is raising eyebrows - and other body parts - in the new issue of men's magazine P---boy. The stunning 38-year-old bares all in the monthly mag, even cavorting with a naked guy and simulating sex in pictures that at first shocked actress Michelle. Dedee says, "I'm the wild Pfeiffer. Michelle is smart, cautious and shy, whereas I'm wild and outrageous and talk before I think. I'm always flashing people at bars - not my breasts, but my tattoos. My family and friends know I'm a freak and I'll try almost anything once." Dedee, who has worked as a cocktail waitress at a mud-wrestling bar, dressed as a monkey, danced in a Disneyland parade and delivered radiators, has two tattoos she loves to show off. She explains, "On my butt I have a tattoo of two cherubs hugging each other. They are symbolic of the angels that protect me, and they epitomize the innocence of love. I also have one of two doves. Perry Accused Of Fathering Hurley's Baby

The Steve Bing - Elizabeth Hurley debacle has taken a bizarre new twist as Bing hints Friends star Matthew Perry is the father of Liz's unborn baby, according to internet reports. Gossip website Peoplenews reports playboy Bing has dropped several hints that Perry had a fling with Hurley while they were filming Serving Sara last year. The film was put on indefinite hold while Perry sought treatment for his dependence on prescription drugs in the middle of filming. And according to msnbc.com, "A source close to the entrepreneur says Bing is telling friends that he believes Hurley and Matthew Perry were an item". But Hurley has slapped the suggestion, with her spokesman saying, "She denies that she had any kind of relationship with Matthew Perry other than a professional one."

FANS of Evi Quaid, director wife of Randy Quaid, can see her naked before they'll get to see the movie she made three years ago.
Evi - who's now going by her first name only - has Hollywood clucking over an exhibition of X-rated self-portraits titled "We've Nothing to Do" at the gallery in Hollywood's ultra-hip Les Deux Cafe. The 5-foot-tall glossies feature Evi in various poses, all of which prominently display her most intimate area, which sports a shiny new piercing.

She tells PAGE SIX's Ian Spiegelman: "That's what is current right now. In film and art it's gone unexplored. I wanted to be as confrontational as possible without accenting breasts because I've always felt breasts are too accented in nudes."

The racy shots got started about three months ago when Playboy proposed Evi, 38, shoot some self-portraits for the magazine. But when Playboy honchos got a load of the pictures, Evi says, "They told me they were too far left of field."

The photos will help promote the movie she directed, "The Debtors," a comedy starring Michael Caine about three shopaholics who escape a rehab center and find salvation on a madcap cross-country trek. It was shot three years ago, but its main investor, Microsoft bigwig Charles Simonhyi, was horrified by a scene in which the German rock band Rammstein sprays milk on a concert audience through a giant phallus. The ensuing court battle left the Quaids filing for bankruptcy, but "Debtors" will finally be released by Artistic License next month in 20 art theaters across the country. Lions Gate is putting out the DVD.

"Quite honestly, that was a really sweet, funny scene," Evi says. "The movie could be relatively mainstream - I mean, it's got Phyllis Diller in
it!"

As for her edgy exhibition, artist Ed Ruscha has already bought the title piece, and we're told actor Buck Henry's been popping in regularly.

"I find nudity hysterical," Evi says. "None of this comes from a dark place." She notes that the body-piercing in the shots was "only there for the images. It's not permanent." A clip-on?
