I've already covered this. It would have been on my top ten list for last year if I had such a thing.

The film is now out on Blu-Ray and it looks spectacular. Here are the 1920x1080 captures from the new high def transfer.

  • French Cinema Nudity is updated
  • My review of There Will Be Blood in which, as usual, I write about five pages of ramblings and rarely mention the movie. It's not in the Funhouse because there is no nudity, but it's one of the more interesting movies of the past year. Last time I looked it was rated #14 of all time at IMDb, and it's another which would have made my top ten list, although I'm not in love with the film the way so many people seem to be. The dark, cynical film is a Best Picture nominee, and Daniel Day-Lewis is virtually a Best Actor shoo-in for his powerful, eccentric performance.

Beta House

(2007)

American Pie Presents: Beta House is yet another raunchy teen comedy claiming ties to American Pie. Think Revenge of the Nerds meets Animal House, but with the Animal House guys being the good guys. This, like Naked Mile, features kinder, gentler Stifflers, lots and lots of tits, and endless sheep sex, horse sperm, peeing and vomit jokes. It does bravely feature female ejaculation and often the women are the sexual aggressors. The special features are full of additional nudity, and it is clear from them and the commentary that the cast and crew really enjoyed making this film. In fact, one entire special feature was dedicated to filming the on-set sport of bagging, that is, punching people in the balls.

IMDb readers say 5.4. The score jumps to 6.4 in the under 18 group, which might be indicative of the level of comedy, although those votes are probably for the R rated version. I don't especially find drinking horse semen, cleavage barfing or sheep fucking amusing, so much of the humor was lost on me. I did find the occasional laugh. I am glad people still make these, but we have gone several years now without a really good one.

Spaz has identified many of the unknowns. (The film was lensed in Toronto and Hamilton, and falls within his Canadian super-powers. Many of the extras and bit players were Toronto-area strippers and actresses.) Check out his column of Dec 24, 2007 for most of the IDs. He made four additional identifications on Dec 25, Dec 30, and Jan 13, and Jan 20th. Prince of Bel Air

(1986)

Prince of Bel Air is a made-for-TV movie that was made only to capitalize on the popularity back then of Mark Harmon and Kirstie Alley (who was not at all sexy and we didn't even bother to cap.)

The only thing that saves this turkey is the lovely Barbara Crampton's topless scene.
