"Delirium"

Delirium, AKA Le Foto di Gioia (1987) is a Giollo from Lamberto Bava. In case some of you don't know the origin of the term, Giollo, or "yellow" was the jacket color of a popular series of pulp mysteries in Italy. Films made from them, or stories like them, became known as Giollo. Wealthly young widow Gioia, former model, and owner of a girlie magazine, returns to work after a lengthy period of grieving. She no longer poses, but has decided to become active in the magazine again. Someone starts killing her models in bizarre and interesting ways, and then sending her photographs of the bodies posed in front of a large picture of her. There are numerous suspects, including a very strange neighbor boy, and a shrew who is trying to buy her magazine.

Before each murder, we see the victim through the eyes of the killer, with their faces transformed into a hideous monster. My favorite murder method was spraying a naked woman with a bee attractant, then closing her in a room with an angry swarm. There is very little on this one on the net. a handful of IMDB voters have it at 5.5 of 10, and two people made grossly inaccurate comments. Gioia is played by Serena Grandi, who is nicknamed the Dolly Parton of Italy. She shows her breasts and buns in several scenes, including a steam bath, and a hot tub sex scene. Trine Michelsen as the first murdered model shows breasts while modeling, and Sabrina Salerno as another murdered model shows breasts and buns. The photography was innovative, which resulted in some good moments, and some very oddly lit scenes. All in all, this thriller is watchable, and Grandi's grand ones are memorable. C.

"Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling"

Jo Jo Dancer, Your Life Is Calling (1986) is a biopic centered around Richard Pryor nearly burning himself to death. As the film opens, he is in intensive care in critical condition, and his alter ego reviews his life to show him how he got where he was, and possibly how to make new choices for the future. This is all told as part of a stand-up comedy routine upon his return to show business. Basically, the film just doesn't work. It plays more like a confession and plea for absolution than an insightful look at what caused a famous and wealthy comedian to be living alone and lonely, and to incinerate his face and most of his chest freebasing.

Prior was neither funny, for the most part, nor able to elicit any empathy from the audience, and gave a flat performance throughout. The cinematography was done well, which created some nice visuals in the cathouse where he was raised, and a stage scene where Paula Kelly as "Satin Doll" dances wearing pasties and a g-string. The other exposure came from Maureen C. Solomon dancing topless at a party.

IMDB scores this at 4.8 of 10. From a craftsmanship standpoint, the film is fine, but it is just not an interesting or engaging story. C-.

Women in Cages - yet another "Pam Grier in a Filipino prison" movie, 1971. This time, however, Pam is the evil lesbian prison matron! This movie isn't as much fun as the one we had yesterday, but there's a lot more flesh from Pam.

    • Pam Grier (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)
    • Roberta Collins (1, 2, 3)

Beautiful breast and bum exposure in scene from "The Waterdance" (1992). In case you have not yet seen this movie, (that's ok, not many people have) Click here to read Scoop's review.

From "The Lover". Besides the fact that every single frame of this film is a photographic work of art, there is also a ton of nudity!
  • Breasts...yup.
  • Bum...check.
  • Bush...got it.
  • Possible real sex caught on film...you betcha!

I think Scoop said it best in his review...
"This is one of the best, most accurate films ever made about forbidden, purely sexual relationships, and one of the most explicit films that you can watch "as a couple", and find that she enjoys it more than you do."

  • Penélope Cruz Excellent breast exposure in scenes from "Captain Corelli's Mandolin". Although someone should tell her that if she wants to be a superstar in the States...she will need to shave the pits.

    Scoops,

Set the time machine to 1974 and let's take a look at "Foxy Brown", starring Pam Grier along with Juanita Brown and some unknown topless girls.

    • Pam Grier, plenty of cleavage busting out of bras, but no real exposure. Links #2 and 3 have her topless, but groping hands prevent any nipple sightings.

    • Juanita Brown, undies only.

    • Grier and Brown, undies only for both. (1, 2)

    The Funnies by Number 6
A few years ago, the Sierra Club and the United States Forest Service (USFS) were presenting an alternative to Wyoming ranchers for controlling the coyote population. It seemed that, after years of the ranchers using the tried and true methods of shooting and trapping the predators, the tree huggers had a "more humane" solution.

What they proposed was for the animals to be captured alive, the males castrated, then let loose again.... And the population would be controlled.

Well, all the ranchers thought about this amazing idea for a couple of minutes. Finally, an old boy in the back stood up, kicked his hat back and said, "Son, I don't think you understand the problem. These coyotes ain't fuckin' our sheep, they're eatin' em.

    Feedback
    From the Mailbag....

    Scoop,

I just wanted to send you more information on that part of the Maxim interview with Charisma. They really took it out of context, which of course is a huge surprise for a men's magazine like Maxim, with its usual high quality of reporting and interest in the truth ;-)

If you go to her fan site at charisma-carpenter.com, it turns out that 1) she's not the lead character, it should be "lead-in," and 2) she's actually covered in a towel. Another hope dashed.
