Jupiter Love is a 2007 ahhh... thriller I guess... where X (Nikka Kalashnikova) is building up to her first exhibition when she comes across Y (Michael André) while driving along a country road who drives alongside her and films her then wants to get to know her but she's not interested. They meet a second time along the country road and Y becomes more violent towards X which leads to her escaping but not without her camera which has her latest exhibition piece on it. Y becomes obsessed with finding and wanting X but she's always one step ahead and will do anything to get rid of him.

Honestly, I have no idea what the hell this movie was on about and there's very little going on to even parse a plot from. Considering the entire movie was made by two people, it's impressive they got as far as they did if only it made some sort of sense. Also marks for getting a movie this incomprehensible a release on DVD when there's plenty of Australian movies that make sense that didn't/haven't.

Defenceless: A Blood Symphony

Defenceless: A Blood Symphony is a 2004 silent revenge thriller where The Woman (Susanne Hausschmid) has her husband then lover (Erin Walsh) murdered by ruthless property developers because of her opposition to a development on the beach that she loves. The property developers then attack and kill The Woman and her son.

9 months later, The Woman emerges from the surf a shell of her former self, found by a young girl (Bethany Fisher) who helps The Woman get her bearings although now The Woman is a cannibalistic dimwit. Then the girl's stepfather kills the girl and The Woman decides to get revenge. She then finds out about what happened to her before she died and The Woman decides to get revenge on the developers and she does so in the nastiest way possible.

Interesting way to tell the age old revenge thriller but once The Woman dies, the movie gets increasingly silly and The Woman becomes a monster who inexplicably starts eating her victims organs. Before she dies she seems like a bit of dimwit but when she comes back it's like her mind is completely wiped. Her turning to cannibalism including eating the remains of her husband is so ridiculous, it's hard to take seriously anything that happens after that. Good idea, silly execution.
