One more 1080hd look at Emma Appleton in episode four of Traitors. Emma's contribution to this series will place her in the running for the nude scene of the year.

Lynn Redgrave in Shine (1996) in 720p

Lynn was a star in 1966 after her appearance in Georgy Girl earned her a nomination for the best actress Oscar. That was a heady start for her career. She was in her early 20s and was nominated in a category that also included Elizabeth Taylor, not to mention Lynn's older sister Vanessa.

I suppose her career never reached the level promised by that start. She never won an Oscar, and was never again nominated in the "leading" category. She was nominated once in the supporting category, but it took 32 years for her to get there.

And she rarely did nudity. It was about a quarter of a century after Georgy Girl when her breasts finally made an appearance on camera in Getting it Right, by which time she was in her forties. The Shine nude scene happened several years after that, when Lynn was well into her 50s, and her lower body finally showed up in 1999's Touched, when she was 56.

Perhaps by that time, getting naked wasn't such a good idea.

Patti D'Arbanville, Mona Kristensen and Catherine Leprince (+ others) in Bilitis (1977) in 1080hd

D'Arbanville

It is not well remembered today, but Patti really got around in her day. She was a native New Yorker who spoke fluent French after living many years in Europe, so she performed in both languages. Along the way, Warhol took her on as a protege, Cat Stevens wrote a song about her, Don Johnson fathered a son by her (Dakota's half-brother, Jesse Johnson).

She's about 70 now, and still working in both films and TV, although not in any huge successes, so it's safe to say her fifteen minutes are up.

This is a monstrous download, by the way - nearly a gig, so I suppose it's not really worth it unless you are a serious collector, but if you are one of those, it's a treasure. The previous home media versions of this have been rubbish, but this is Blu-Ray quality. There is probably some interesting yarn behind how an obscure 40-year-old French B-film ended up with such a good presentation on an expensive (35 bucks) Spanish Blu-Ray, but I guess you'll have to use your imagination, because I don't know it. If Patti D'Arbanville is your thing, just enjoy!
