Butterfly
1982
I have written about this Pia
Zadora film at length. Bottom line: although her other films and her other
performances are god-awful, Pia's screen debut is not so bad, and the film
itself has a lot of plusses.
Fair warning: very few people agree with me.
It is now out on an official DVD for the first time. There is a new
45-minute featurette, and there is a full-length commentary by the legendary
Pia Zadora her ownself.

American High School
2009
Misogynistic. Racist. Not funny. Not touching. Not sexy. Not intelligent.
Juvenile. Inconsistent characterization. Incoherent storyline. Poor acting.
Looks like it was shot in one day on a home camcorder, with most of the
dialogue improvised.
Otherwise, not too bad.
Only two things in it worth seeing (and those barely so):
1. The high school prom features Trini Lopez singing La Bamba. It's nice to
see him again, and he still sounds the same, although now 71 years old. Too
bad he needs to take gigs like this.
2. Nikki Ziering took
off her top and kept it off for more than 2 minutes. Unfortunately, she
does not have factory original equipment. You may remember her as the
Cop/Stripper in American Wedding.
How bad is a movie if Trini Lopez improves it? Worst movie I've seen in a
long time, and worst high school sex comedy ever. The IMDb score should end up
in the 2s.
