Happy St. Patrick's
Day.
Drink responsibly.
Actually you can drink
as irresponsibly as you
like, but don't try to
operate any vehicles or
heavy machinery if you
do. Just talk too loud
and say, "I love you,
man" at least a hundred
times to each of your
friends. Also: don't
miss the commode when
you puke, and try to
keep the vomit off your
shoes, cuffs and socks.
If you are reading this,
remember that this is
the Monday edition, and
note that the Sunday
edition was only "new"
online for a few hours
before I replaced it. If
you haven't seen Kanada
Korner, OZ's latest
tribute to TJ Hooker,
and the latest Tatort
(not to mention classic
scenes from Boarding
Gate and
Witchboard), then you
need to catch the Sunday
edition in the back
issues.

the brothel scene, if
you're into the anonymous

Nicole
Bloom did a nice
topless scene on this week's
Shameless

and Emmy
Rossum chipped in with
a little bit of side boob in
the same episode.

"The
Rocket"
(2013)
Johnny's
comments:
The
Rocket is an Australian
co-production filmed in
Laos about Ahlo
(Sitthiphon Disamoe), a
boy who was to be killed
at birth because he was
believed to be cursed, a
fact borne out by the
death of the other twin
at birth. His mother
pleads to keep him and
he is saved, but Ahlo is
destined to be nothing
but bad luck for his
family. When his family
is forced to move, his
insistence on keeping
his boat causes the
death of his mother. At
the new village, Ahlo
befriends a young girl,
Kia, whose only family
is her drunken uncle
Purple, who is obsessed
with James Brown and
this obsession
inevitably leads to an
incident caused by Ahlo
that forces his family
with Kia and Purple to
move on. At the next
stop, they are told to
move on by the elders,
but are allowed to stay
for the Rocket Festival
and that's when Ahlo
concocts an idea that he
will build a rocket that
will win the Rocket
competition and save his
family from moving to
the city.
Can Ahlo reverse his bad
luck and win the
contest? The Rocket is a
relatively simple movie
that takes a while to
warm up, but ends rather
impressively. It's a
well made feel-good
movie that is very hard
to dislike and the
little boy and girl are
fantastic.
