"Shadow of Doubt" (1998)

Scoopy beat me to Shadow of Doubt (1998), and declared it an ok mystery. I will agree on the C- rating, but think the film suffered from an identity crisis. It doesn't know if it wants to be a courtroom drama, a murder mystery, or a political thriller. To be credible at all three would have taken much more than the script had to offer. Also, has Melanie Griffith always had an annoying voice, or did I just now notice it?

The role has Melanie as both ruthless and vulnerable, trusting and suspicious, to the point that I didn't really have a clue what she really was. I would have liked more information on her staff as well. She played a defense attorney who divorced a prominent DA, and won an acquittal for an accused rapist/murderer who later told her he was guilty. She was also sleeping with her client the rapist, but had no idea he was a sexual predator until he told her in a rare attack of honesty. Given all of this baggage, who were the man and woman on her staff, and why did she trust them?

Of the three genres, the mystery element is the strongest. I never would have guessed the ending, partially because it is so implausible. The courtroom drama seems self-conscious, and Melanie just did not come across as a top-notch attorney. The political thriller portion was very muddled, and seems to be saying that everyone is corrupt all the time in politics. The bottom line question, however, is, Was it entertaining, and the answer is yes. We have lots of breasts and some buns from both Sandra Guibord and Kimberly Kates.

Bad week for new releases and for nudity. Usually there is one or the other, but this week was bad for both. I took a look at Agent Red. The review is an old one, because I reviewed it previously from a bootleg. The picture is better this time, but the movie hasn't improved any. Sasquatch argued for the Martian adventure as his favorite genre to make fun of in the past year, but I have to go with the roomy submarine gunfight films..

I took a look at What's Cooking?. A mixed neighborhood in LA. It's Thanksgiving, and we're only watching one corner in one neighborhood. On the four corners reside a Vietnamese family, a black family, a Jewish family, and a Mexican family. All the elders suffer from the rebellion of the younger generation. All struggle between retaining their ethnic individuality and blending into the melting pot. All suffer from terminal boredom and heart warmth. No female nudity. No anything, that I could see. Like watching a two hour episode of The Cosby Show, except worse. (In fairness, this got some good reviews, and has a high rating at IMDb. Maybe I just hate this kind of static movie.)

    Graphic Response
  • Fairuza Balk, a great collage of the unusual actress showing her breasts in "American History X".
  • Madonna, topless in scenes from the "shocking" behind the scenes movie "Truth or Dare". What? Musicians are naughty backstage? Who woulda thunk it?.

  • Hugo
Three Cheers for Hugo! Once again the vidcap master sets a new standard of quality for the rest of us to catch up to.

Or to combine the two catch phrases that I despise with passion....
Hugo has taken empowerment to the next level!

What the hell does that mean? Nothing really, other than I think any company or ad firm that uses either of those phrases deserves to be dot.commed out of existence.

There, I've vented. Now on to the goods!

    Gabrielle Anwar
    (1, 2, 3)

The lovely Gabrielle topless in the remake of "Body Snatchers".

    Joanna Pacula
    (1, 2)

Steamy love scene from "Gorky Park".

    Keeley Hawes
    (1, 2, 3)

Excellent breast exposure and full frontal nudity from the UK movie "Retribution" aka "Complicity".

    le Helvete
    Charlotte Rampling
    (1, 2, 3, 4)

Vidcaps from 1974's "The Night Porter". Full frontal nudity in #1, topless in the others.

Élodie Bouchez Full frontal nudity from the French movie "Don't Let Me Die on a Sunday" (1999). For those who don't follow French cinema, allow me to refresh your memories. Jean-Marc Barr (the dude from "The Big Blue") works in a morgue, and begins to have a sex with Élodie. One slight problem though...she's a corpse. Here's Scoop's review.

Natalia Negoda Topless in scenes from "La Petite Véra"

    Nut51
Julie Du Page Brief breast exposure in scenes from "Jusqu'à ce que la mort nous sépare" (1999).

Tonya Kinzinger Partial side breast exposure from the TV series, "Sous le soleil".

    Claire Keim
    (1, 2)

Breast exposure about as full as it can be without revealing a nipple.

Valérie Lemercier Nothing partial about this topless scene from 1992's "Sexes Faibles!".

    Rawhide Kid
  • Veronica Varekova showing some excellent cleavage. (1, 2)

  • Yamilla Diaz shares her exotic good looks with us in two different bikinis. Someone check the restaurants to see if their tablecloths are missing! (1, 2)

  • Yasmeen Ghauri looking sexy in a grey bikini, with a rock hard guy hanging around with her!

  • Closing it all up are the Sylvander sisters, Yvette and Yvonna. They're frolicking in the surf...are those suits painted on? It looks like it but I can't quite tell.

  • and ...
Katharina Abt Topless and a brief (and a little blurry) flash of full frontal exposure from the movie "Bronsteins Kinder" (1990). Thanks to Celeblover.

    Keeley Hawes Excellent see-thru exposure.

Melanie Griffith ZonononZor does it again! Another simply amazing tribute collage. This one highlights Mel's nude scenes in the movie "Fear City".
