The Grindhouse Era (continued)

We're up to Hot Numbers (1965), which is one of the stupidest, cheapest shorts ever released because it is nothing more than a bunch of scenes from maybe twenty movies cobbled together for no good reason except to show off a lot of T and an occasional A.  This fine cinematic achievement includes a snippet of the June Roberts scene from Swinging Nurses, a headless snippet of Gigi Darlene from Hot Nights on Campus and Dolores Carlos from some nudist movie.

A couple of the other actresses look sort of familiar but I could not dredge up their names. 

Two movies with Nude in their titles star Susan Evans.  IMDb says the first thing she made was Nudes and Nuts (1963), about some guy who pays women $50 so he can paint on them, really really badly.  Ms. Evans’ scene has some charm to it because it appears she was ticklish and found the paint brush tickling.

An ebony goddess with the single name of Natara also plays a living canvas,

as do a couple of unknowns.

Both Hot Numbers and Swinging Nurses (yesterday's page) have scenes in which one woman attempts to entice another into posing nude by telling her she will earn $50.  Does not seem like much until you figure $50 in 1965 was a pretty good salary for a week’s work. 

Then there is Nude A Go-Go (1965) that shows us five women, one at a time, do the topless go-go dancing thing in a series of quick inter-cuts.

The camera spends a lot of time in extreme closeup of faces and bellies and other parts, none of it the least bit interesting, but once in a blue moon the cameraman made the sensible decision to pull back a bit.  Two of the go-go dancers are Susan Evans

and Gretchen Rudolph, but the other three are unknown.

 

I should add that Ms. Rudolph dances in front of a screen that shows a parking garage.  She sure does.
