  • Crow deserves the lead-off slot today for this first look at Helen Mirren in that new Ayn Rand movie. Mirren is battling it out with Sally Kirkland for oldest nude scene. She was about 53 when she did this. As Helen gets older, she looks more and more Slavic. (Although she was born in the U.K., her real name is Ilynea Mironoff)

  • A few more caps here. Tonight’s feature presentation is Daughters of Darkness (1971). The film was released under about 10 different names but I think this was the official name of the US release. A somewhat artsy vampire thriller, this flick looks way more contemporary than 1971. It features the gorgeous Danielle Ouimet as the good girl gone bad (she becomes a vamp at the end of the movie) and Andrea Rau as the sexy naked vampire assistant. Actually Danielle and Andrea received third and fourth billing but for us they are #s one and one. I rarely do DVD because I like to stick to the more obscure movies so this was a bit of a treat. DVD is a pain in its own special way (I have a PC DVD player so I have to go through this elaborate ritual to make caps, and then they are out of perspective ratio, etc.) but the images are nicer so I made these into BIG caps. If you have a DVD player you probably know this but if you don’t you may not. DVD quality has dropped tremendously since the first DVDs were released. When I made caps of Happy Gilmore, each cap (consisting of 10 frames) was about 5 mb, that’s each cap. These caps (5 frames) were around 600k. The difference in quality is apparent when you see the single frames. So…DVD is better but this is an average DVD (I’ve seen worse) so the pics are nowhere near crystal clear and sharp. First one: Danielle Ouimet layin’ around all sexy. A flash of boob.
  • Second one: Danielle showing both breasts (though a couple of grainy frames, very very short sequence) when she opens the windows and sees a naked vampire girl peeping in on her.
  • Third one: Danielle makin’ love.
  • Various pics of Danielle plus a scan (yes I have a scanner which I never use) of a reproduction of a foreign poster for this movie. Also Danielle’s breasts as she gets ready to have a vampyros lesbos liaison. That frame is all red.
  • Andrea Rau puking in the toilet because she drank somebody’s blood. Looks like she drank a couple of pints of MD 20/20. Been there, done that.
  • These last three are a chronological sequence of the sexiest but stupidest scene in the movie. She screws Danielle’s fiancé then is watching him take a shower. He feels a bit randy so grabs her to pull her into the shower. Apparently, in this movie, vampires cannot get wet (I know they do on Buffy so it must not be a strong vampire folklore motif) and she exhibits great pain in the water.
  • Andrea is in pain and falls backwards out of the shower and runs her arm along the sink counter, knocking over toiletries and such. She wraps her hand around a straight razor which cuts deeply into her palm making her scream out in pain. Here it gets really stupid. She DOES NOT let go of the razor but keeps squeezing it while screaming and dripping blood. Then…
  • ... He goes to help her and bumps into her and she slips and falls, still holding tightly onto the blade slicing into her hand and FALLS ON IT and this stupid little straight razor goes into her back and kills the big bad vampire in about two seconds. Incredibly moronic scene in an otherwise decent movie. This one is my favorite collage.
  • This one is just a quick collage of Debra Messing on last night's rerun of the Craig Kilbourn Show. Debra is on Will and Grace and was on Ned and Stacey. Cute.
