Tuna
"Macabre" (1980)

Macabre, AKA Macabro, AKA Frozen Terror is Lamberto Bava's first film. He got the idea from a magazine article, and wrote the screenplay mostly as a joke. Even the images are a spoiler, so, if you plan on watching the film, get them later from the Tuna archive. The film features well lit full-frontal from Bernice Stegers both in a bath scene and a bedroom scene. The story is strange enough, Bava's direction is fine, the photography is excellent, but the film has pace problems, and lacks a central conflict. IMDB readers say 5.5/10, and I will award C-. It is mostly of interest to genre fans who want to see everything Lamberto Bava did. The box office was so bad on this film that he was out of work for over two years.

Spoilers

When Bava read a story about a woman who kept the frozen head of her decapitated lover and had sex with it, he decided to write a screenplay just for the fun of it. He submitted it, mostly as a joke, and the producer immediately decided to make it. Mario Bava saw the film and said he could die happy now, as his son had proven himself as a director. Mario, ironically, died two months later. Steger plays a New Orleans wife and mother of two unhappily married to an older man. No sooner is hubby off to work, than she is off to her love nest, leaving her daughter and her younger brother home. The daughter, in a fit of jealousy, drowns the younger brother in the bathtub, then calls her mother with the news.

The mother and her lover rush to her house, but the lover is killed in a traffic accident. Cut a year into the future. Stegers gets out of a mental hospital, and moves into her love nest. The former landlady has died, leaving her blind young son as the owner. We discover slowly, along with the blind landlord, exactly what secret she is keeping in the freezer. This would have been enough story for a half hour Hitchcock, and would be like him. There was not enough meat for a feature film. Nonetheless, it proves Lamberto's ability to direct a film.

    "Point Break" (1991)

Point Break (1991) is an action/adventure film from director Kathryn Bigelow that looks at people whose life centers around finding the ultimate adrenaline rush. Keanu Reeves, hick from Ohio, and former star quarterback in a Rose Bowl had to give up football due to a knee injury. He joins the FBI, and is assigned straight out of Quantico to work in a bank robbery division in LA. He is partnered with Gary Busey, a 22 year veteran who is out of favor with the bureau. They are assigned to a gang calling themselves the dead presidents (they wear masks of Nixon, Carter, ETC. when they rob banks) who has staged dozens of bank hold-ups without making a single mistake.

Busey has a theory that they are surfers, as they only work in the prime surfing months and one of them showed a tan line giving a BA to the security cameras. To try the theory, Reeves buys a board and learns to surf. He manages to convince Lori Petty to teach him, and befriends a group of surfers including Patrick Swayze, surfer supreme and obvious leader. A hair sample left in the last robbery shows a collection of pollutants that is traced to a particular beach. The FBI raids a house based on the information, and manages to hose what had been an ongoing DEA undercover job. During this bust, Julie Michaels is seen in the shower, then trying to stab a cop, and struggling with him. You see her breasts and her bush, although the lighting is difficult and there is a lot of motion blur. Later, Petty shows her butt running out of the room.

The film is high energy start to finish, and includes a foot chase through Santa Monica, CA, surfing, and sky diving, as well as several fights. There are a lot of bloopers. For instance, the FBI report IDs Petty as blonde with green eyes, while she is actually dark haired with blue eyes. Also, the BA scene as originally seen does not show a tan line, but when reviewed at the FBI headquarters, about half of a back is exposed to show the tan line. Does this make for a bad film? Not really. They are minor points, and the point of the film is to show the mentality of people who are addicted to the adrenaline rush. Maltin sees it as an ok action flick with nothing deeper, and awards 2 1/2 stars. Ebert perceived the statement the director was trying to make, and gives 3 1/2 stars. IMDB readers say 6.4/10. or closer to Maltin. Everyone agrees that it is watchable, with the disagreement being over how much depth the film has. I liked the detailed character development which is not typical in an action film. C+.

    Scoopy Jr's opinion...

I think the depth of "Point Break" can be summed up in one scene with one line....When Keanu says in his toughest voice, "I am an FBI agent!". I wonder how many takes it took to keep Ted "Theodore" Logan from saying "Yes Way! I'm totally a full on Fed!"

Despite the plot, Keanu, Patrick Swayze, and Patrick Swayze's horrible hair-do, it's not a bad action flick. Especially if you don't want to think for 2 hours and you're looking for something with fewer car chases, gunfights and explosions than standard action flicks. "Point Break" has it's share, but they are essential to the plot (after all, they are bankrobbers), and it's not over the top.

I do have to give full credit to the beautifully filmed surfing and skydiving scenes. In my opinion, they make the movie. Especially when you turn down the sound so you can't here the moronic surfer banter.

Chatting with Tuna the other day, I realized that between us we have now done more than 30,000 images - just the two of us! (Well, sort of, but not without help. Tuna is a solo act, but mine actually include thousands of collaborations - incorporating scans and caps originally done by other guys, like Stone Cold and TomCat and others.) Astounding number. I don't have a separate count of nudes, but I guess it must safely include more than 25,000 with some nudity! Every one of Tuna's is still on display here on the site. Some of my earlier ones are gone forever, but all the worthwhile ones are still around.

Note to Sleuth, and those who helped out. One reader pointed me to a place where I could buy a DVD copy of Firehouse, and it is on its way. Should have some caps in a couple of days.

Here's something rare. Gina Gershon, age 20, in Sweet Revenge. I don't think this film is available on tape or DVD. I've never seen it.  These are not vidcaps, but scans of magazine pictures.

Blue Juice is a surfing movie with a couple of odd changes from the formula (1) it takes place in Cornwall (2) there isn't any surfing. Actually, there are 2-3 minutes of surfing footage, but you get the picture. No female nudity, either. The artist currently known as Catherine Zeta Jones Douglas did look great, however.

Let the Devil Wear Black is another attempt to modernize Hamlet. This time they have used Shakey's basic plot, but modern dialogue and situations. I'll leave it to you to figure out what Lisa Boyle is doing in Hamlet - unless you follow the link, where all will be explained.

    • Lisa Boyle (1, 2, 3)
    • Mary-Louise Parker (by the way, subtly hidden and unnoticed by most, you can see Parker's very shapely butt on the left side of the bottom picture in collage #1. Look carefully - it is there!) (1, 2, 3)

Thinking about Tootsie yesterday led me to consider some more related questions. What was the worst movie ever to win an Oscar? What was the best eligible picture NOT to win an Oscar? What nominees were defeated by the most inferior fellow nominees? What masterpieces were not even nominated? Read all about it here.

    Sex and the City
    Kim Cattrall
    (1, 2, 3)

In case anyone missed the news, the 4th season opener of "Sex and the City" featured a great nude scene by Kim Cattrall. Not too shabby for a woman in her mid 40's. In fact, quite excellent actually! Topless in links #1 and 2, full dorsal nudity in #3. 'Caps by Aesthete.

    More Kim
    (1, 2, 3)

Slightly different versions of her topless scene, by Deaf Beer.

Sarah Jessica Parker She didn't show the goods of course, but SJP had a couple of cap-worthy scenes. She took a short trip down the runway and looked great. Cleavage and legs everywhere. She also had a shower scene, but of course she was behind the curtain. Thanks to Life32.

    Scorpion's Skinemax
Amber Smith The famous supermodel looking fantastic as she goes topless and shows a bit of bush in an episode of Red Shoe Diaries.

These next few images are from various episodes of "Erotic Confessions"

    Ahmo Hight
    (1, 2, 3)

A great body, but we only get to see breasts clearly. Link #3 probably has the most overall skin showing as Ahmo does a lesbo sex scene with Catalina Larranaga.

Charlie Curtis She's new to me, and very nice. Breasts are in plain view, and there is also a hint of pubes in these phony sex scenes. A little misc. trivia....the IMDb also lists her as a stunt player and stand-in for Liv Tyler in "Armageddon" (1998).

    Kim Yates
    (1, 2)

Full frontal nudity, and plenty of simulated sex.

Kira Reed As always, putting her big ol' floppy boobs on display while gettin' it on.

Lauren Hayes Plenty of breast exposure, plus a little bit of bum too.

This batch of 'caps are all from "Romancing Sara" (1995)

Dita von Teese aka Heather Sweet. Each of the 3 B's can be seen clearly, and they're all very nice (well, if you dig the stripper look).

    Susie Chidley
    (1, 2)

Link #1 has some great thong and pubs views. Link #2 offers full frontal nudity.

    Taylor Caliban
    (1, 2, 3)

aka Allison Gail. The first two are a bit dark but do feature clear topless and lower frontal nudity. #3 offers better lighting for a couple of topless scenes.

    DeVo
Anna Loos The very busty actress in topless scenes from "Halt mich fest!". A must see if you're into big'uns.

Kiara Hunter Former Miss Canada, plus a whole slew of other fitness and swimsuit titles. Here she is showing off her very fit bod, and very fake boobs in scenes from "Sleeping Dogs".

Petra Kulikova Also going topless in "Sleeping Dogs".

    Blackshine's Fashion Scans
  • Thumbnail previews (1, 2)

  • Sandra Bernhard (1, 2)

  • Raquel and Tahnee Welch (1, 2)
  • Raquel Welch
  • Audrey Tchekova

  • and ...
    Melanie Griffith
    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6)

Excellent 'caps by Watty from "Something Wild" (1986). Melanie is topless is all of these, plus link #6 has some rear nudity as well.

Claire Skinner One more from Watty. Here's Claire in the UK TV series "Perfect Strangers".

    Ursula Karven
    (1, 2)

From "Holiday Affair". Link #1 looks like a rip off from "American Beauty", but hey, she's topless so I won't complain. Link #2 has her in a very steamy shower scene with breast and bum views. Thanks to Phuture Optic.

    Previously asked question

    Q. Did Janet Jones have a nude in "The Flamingo Kid"?

    A. So far, all signs point to no.

    New question

Q.Aside from looking on ebay, does anyone know where to find an unedited version of the movie "Breezy", staring Kay Lenz. It has some stupendous nude scenes in it.

    Hugh Jackman: The Naked Truth
    -Angel Cohn
    TV Guide Online
    Monday, June 4, 2001

Australian-born actor Hugh Jackman is a big fan of his X-Men co-star Halle Berry - and not just because she goes topless in their new action-thriller, Swordfish (opening Friday). "I never looked below the eye," he tells TV Guide Online of their revealing poolside scene. "To be honest, I was probably more scared than she was... more embarrassed than she was."

Making matters worse, the much-talked-about sequence took three days to shoot due to weather problems. "[Halle] decided to sit there on the chaise lounge the whole time while they were setting up, while they were lighting, just to feel comfortable," Jackman explains. "By the time we did it the third day, she was practically [coming to the set] naked."

However, Jackman - who will reunite with Berry in the upcoming X-Men sequel- says her portrayal of sexy manipulator Ginger in Swordfish revealed more than just her physical prowess. "I couldn't think of any actor who could have the presence that the role required," he marvels, "as well as the acting chops to switch and change and do all those things that Ginger had to be."

Still, a great bod never hurt, right? Winks Jackman: "She's got every reason to be confident, let's face it." -
