Angel III The Final Chapter (1988) again changes Angel's, this time to Mitzi Kapture. Molly is living in New York, and working as a free lance photographer, when she snaps a picture of her long lost mother. She follows mommy to LA, and learns that she has a sister in some sort of trouble, shortly before mom is car bombed. Naturally, Molly has to find and rescue the sister, who is tangled up with a woman who does prostitution, porn, cocaine and white slavery. Angel is assisted in her one woman war on crime by a supposed old Hollywood friend (not in the first two films) and a film editor who provides her love interest. This one is pretty much a standard Hollywood crime thriller, but with lots of breasts.

Several unknowns also show breasts and partial buns. Richard Roundtree appears as a police Lieutenant. IMDB readers have this at 3.7 of 10. I hesitate to even call this one exploitation. It is closer akin to straight to vid crime thrillers, and is barely adequate, hence a low C-. The transfer on all three films is very nice, in the original Widescreen theatrical format, and the first two have special features, including trailers, slide shows, and even deleted scenes for the original Angel. All in all, they did a great job on the box set.

A month or so ago someone wrote asking about a review he had read about Salome (Sal-oh-may) on Broadway and Marisa Tomei's reported nude scene. (see the review on www.salomeonbroadway.com/reviews_01.html ) Well, I saw the performance this past weekend and can conform she does an extended topless scene. Unfortunately, the show closes its limited run on June 12.

Without going through an entire review of the play/staged reading (no set, scripts on stage, but the actors don't use them, and the actors perform to the audience instead of each other) I'll give a brief recap. Salome (Marisa Tomei) goes to a dungeon and asks to see the prisoner John the Baptist (David Strathairn). She flirts with him and he rejects her. Her mother (Diane Wiest) and stepfather/uncle/king Herod (Al Pacino) arrive with Herod quite drunk and hitting on Salome and asks her to dance for him. After extensive cajoling Salome finally agrees and does the dance of the seven veils in exchange for anything she wants, up to half his kingdom.

Very sexy, erotic dance and about half way through the dance she takes her top off and dances for an extended period topless. Al Pacino's character sums the dance up best with his first line after the dance. He delivers the line in only a way Al Pacino could, "Wonderful." The remainder of the show has Tomei performing with a satin like shawl drapped over her, but at points it slips off. Anyway, Salome asks Herod for the head of John the Baptist and after several attempts to convince her that she wants something else Herod grants her wish and then condemns her to death as the show ends.

Tomei looks fantastic and her performance was decent. Diane Wiest was dissapointing in a small role. David Strathairn was quite good as John the Baptist. The show was saved and made by Al Pacino. He completely commanded the stage and was quite funny, he literally carried the entire reading.

I've seen every Bond movie and pretty much liked them all. Lots of action, usually a pretty good story, and some sexy women what's not to like?

This Bond movie has all the usual ingredients, and I thought the story was better than average for a Bond flick. This time, the bad guys are North Korean, and the action and high-tech is right up to date. Lotsa fun.

The history of the Bond films is that the title sequences always had nude or near-nude ladies, usually well disguised with overlays and special effects, and usually so quick that you saw it but didn't see it. Well, this Bond was no different, so I decided to collage the title also, just for grins. The nudity is there, but it's tough to see.
