Thelma Todd in the Marx Brothers’ classic, Horse Feathers is a cure for what ails ya.  She was a perfect foil for their craziness, with no role except to react to their lascivious attention – all four brothers at various times – and to their insults.  And react she does, wonderfully so. 

Thelma had great comedic timing.  And she was a talented physical comedienne.  Plus, she was open – apparently eager – to wear revealing clothes in the Pre-code era.  

Three gowns in Horse Feathers did a lot to show off her slim and athletic build.  Thelma wore one of those in an 8-minute-long scene that all four brothers plus the villain of the story come into and out of doors and windows.  I pulled out the best of the shots and stuck them together in a 2-minute clip.  Not sure if it is a persistent optical illusion or the real deal, but it seems to me one can see evidence of a protruding nip in this scene.  Perhaps in HD we can tell.
