"Young Adam"

Young Adam (2003) stars Ewan McGregor in a very dark and claustrophobic film set mainly on a river barge in Scotland. Ewan is a hired hand about the barge, owned by Tilda Swinton and operated by her and her husband. As the film opens, Ewan and the husband fish the body of a woman out of the river. The story is told in linear narrative, and flashbacks. As there is no clear indication of when a flashback is happening, you really need to pay attention. Ewan's character is gradually revealed such that, by the end of the film, you understand him, and exactly what happened.

He becomes carnally involved with Swinton, and her husband eventually finds out and leaves. She decides she want sot marry Ewan, but he runs, and quickly. We gradually learn that he knew much more about the dead woman, played by Emily Mortimer, than he at first let on. He becomes even more upset, almost to the point of doing something, when another man is arrested and tried for the murder. We learn that Mortimer and McGregor had a very lusty relationship indeed. McGregor also manages to bed two other women in the course of the film.

Swinton and Mortimer show breasts and a quick flash of bush. Pauline Turner does a more lengthy full frontal. IMDb readers have it at 6.6 of 10. Ebert says 3 1/2 stars, and Berardinelli 3. I agree that it is a very well made film, with the story told in an interesting way, and enough sex and nudity to spice up what is otherwise a dreary character driven piece. It received the dread NC-17, which, in this case, was probably warranted. I am not sure young kids need to see a woman smeared with custard and ketchup, caned, then taken from behind. Sony elected to release it uncut - a move I applaud. McGregor's sexual exploit were very much a required part of the narrative, and hence in no way gratuitous. This is a C+. It is a very well made film, but with limited appeal to mass audiences.

            Sin City (2005):

            Author Frank Miller has always
said that he would not allow movies to be made from his graphic
novels, but Robert Rodriguez convinced him otherwise. I'm not
surprised by anything Rodriguez does. As I have written before, he
is probably the single most talented director in the entire
industry, although he has not yet created a masterpiece to prove me
            right.

            Rodriguez reminds me of Sergio
Leone. Let me remind you how Leone's career went: (Stage 1)
brilliant moments in trivial genre films (Stage 2) some of the best
genre films ever made - The Good the Bad and The Ugly, Once Upon a
Time in the West  (Stage 3) late in life - made one of the best
films of any kind ever made - Once Upon a Time in America.

It seems to me that Rodriguez
is about to move from Stage 1 to Stage 2. Perhaps Sin City will
place him on the top of the list, as Pulp Fiction did for his buddy
            and sometime collaborator, Quentin Tarantino.

The trailer for Kinsey - Academy Award-winner Bill
Condon ("Gods and Monsters," "Chicago") explores the life of the
pioneer of human sexuality research, Alfred Kinsey (Liam Neeson).
Spanning six decades from his childhood in the early 1900s to his
death in 1956, the film turns the microscope on the man whose
landmark studies on the sexual behaviors of the common man rocked
a nation. The interviewer of tens of thousands, Kinsey subjected
his own life and that of his researchers to the same type of
analysis that produced his 1948 best-selling book "Sexual Behavior
in the Human Male." But while the Kinsey team's focus was
predominantly outward, perhaps what they learned about themselves
was as great as that which they taught their country.

NOTE: because of a unique combination of
circumstances with the Windows media player and some substantial
bandwidth theft, we will have to do all of our movie files in zip
format. Left click on the files as you normally would to view a
            picture. When
you get a choice, click on "save", and put it on your hard drive in
the directory of your choice. UnZIP and play from there.

I know this is not especially convenient, but it
allows the film clips to continue. I can protect .zip files from
hot-linking in the same way I can protect still images. For some
reason, if I protect .avis and .wmvs from hot-linking, they will not
play in the Windows media player, and I can't get a satisfactory
work-around. Perhaps I will find a better solution, but for now this
new policy allows you to continue getting the movie clips you want
to see, which is much preferable to my abandoning the clips
            altogether.

Perhaps these tips will help if you have trouble
with the codecs for these movies:

            Shiloh says:

FYI when I hypercam vids to make the file size smaller I use
DivX MPEG-4 Fast-Motion for the video compressor, then I use
virtualdub to compress the audio. The properties for the
vids says the video codec:  DivX Decoder Filter & audio
codec:  Morgan Stream Switcher which I'm not familiar with.
When I compress the audio with virtualdub I use MPEG
Layer-3.  A friend of mine told me about compressing the
audio about (6) mos. ago. Like I said previously, only been
capping for a year & a half & I'm no expert. Hopefully this
info will help members with the proper codecs for my vids.

                    When I cap big brother's I use hypercam mostly & sdp &
asfrecorder if the set up allows me. I stopped using
camtasia cause the file sizes were always too big, could
never figure out the process, over my head lol, plus it cost
too much to buy in my opinion.

                A reader says:

You mentioned that some users were
having trouble with the videos on your site. There is a tool
designed to determine what codec is needed for a video.

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ Hope this is useful to you
                  or your users.

            Scoop says:

I made the .wmv versions of each video. The codecs for these: Windows Video V8, Windows Audio 9.
The upside of these is that you know the codecs, and they'll play in
the Windows Media Player. The downside is that they are slightly
            larger, and slightly lower quality.

"Cheerleader Ninjas" (2002)

The only reason to see this movie is to see
Kira Reed do high kicks without wearing any panties
(something you would never see Sharon Stone do).

The rest of the movie is hamstercam/upskirt shots,
fart jokes, and Star Trek computer geeks who can't get laid.
With the notable exception of Kira Reed in a small role
there is no nudity by the main or supporting
cast. A promise in the opening credits that the
head cheerleader will "lift her shirt" at the end turned
out to be an obvious body double.

- Kira Reed (1,
2,
3): all three Bs plus beaver cam.
 - Cheerleader Ninjas: the good cheerleaders.
 - Catholic Ninjas: the naughty cheerleaders (Booke Martin,
Alissa Shanley, Cathryn Farnsworth, Jade Merrithew).

The Cheerleader Ninjas:
The bodydubs:
- catfight: two topless bodydubs, one of them Kira Reed. The
other was used for Angela's bodydub.
 - lesbian: two uncredited actress in dream sequence. The
brunette is the second catfight bodydub/Angela's bodydub.

"Femmes enchaînées: Q.H.S. 3" (2001) (V)

This is the French-Canadian release
of Chained Rage which is the only uncut
release in North America.

- Kira Reed (1,
2): more beavercam.

"The Cheerleaders"

1973's The Cheerleaders is a classic example of the first being the best, if you can call this early 70's sexploitation flick good. I recently capped Cheerleader Camp not knowing it was the third in a series called The Cheerleaders Collection. Someone set me straight, and requested the other two. This is the first, and in terms of nudity, simulated sex acts, natural boobs and bush, definitely the best.

They actually have a two-pronged plot in this movie. Amazing that they bothered with any plot at all, but the storyline revolves primarily around newest cheerleader Jeannie and her personal problem: virginity. Naturally, her new teammates vow to help her overcome this problem.

Meantime, the cheerleaders must show their school spirit by sleeping with the opponents of their football team so they'll be worn out for the game the next day. Only problem: they screw up and sleep with their OWN team as well. Ah, well, mistakes happen.

Totally goofy soft porn is really a well-done example of how it used to be in the politically incorrect 70's, and it's a blast to watch despite being really dumb. It's also funny as hell, with some great examples of classic corn. Eating a sundae, a cheerleader asks "Who wants my cherry?", then as she eats it herself "Too late." "Yeah, by about three years" quips her friend.

In addition to everything else about this movie, you may get a kick out of 70's-era things like the 45 RPM record player, and the pictures of Elvis on the locker room wall. My guess is a good many people that look at my collages have never seen a 45 machine in real life.

I'm well aware that the quality of the collages suck, but I couldn't do better. The quality of the print from which the DVD was made had to be pretty bad, but even so, this movie is well worth a look, for historical value if nothing else.

Fantastic 'caps by Vejiita featuring the babes of the upcoming Robert Rodriguez movie "Sin City", based on the comic by Frank Miller. In these pics we have Jessica Alba, Carla Gugino, Rosario Dawson, Devon Aoki, Jaime King, Brittany Murphy, Marley Shelton and Alexis Bledel. Some partial skin here and there with toplessness from "Spy Kids" mom Carla Gugino...but mostly these are just very cool 'caps.

Davis from one of her very early roles. Here she is showing off a bunch of cleavage in the absolutely awful 1985 movie "Transylvania 6-5000".

aka France Lomay. I only thing I know about this movie is that I love the title...."Oasis of the Zombies"! I guess it was originally called "La Tumba de los muertos vivientes" (1983). Jesus Franco has a co-director credit, so I guess you can count on plenty of toplessness and some lesbian lovin'. In these 'caps by the Skin-man, we have Jordan in topless scenes, but not lesbo action.
