Remember the videos, Bikini House Calls and Bikini
Medical School (1996)? Me neither. They were
written (sic) and directed (sic) by Michael Paul
Girard. Well, he also did the honors for what I
think was a TV show called Divorce Law, which went
nowhere and none of us would know about it were it not
for the work of the legendary Tuna. He captured
the episodes decades ago and assembled a bunch of screen
caps that you can find in the Back Issues.
But then Michael had the great idea of slamming together
three episodes of the failed Divorce Law to make
something that vaguely resembles a movie and three more
episodes to make something else, again vaguely
movie-like. He called them Brief Affair (1993) and
Illegal Affairs (1993), which he released on direct to
video. They were on the same discs as the Bikini
things, so yeah, well I did what I could and here they
are.
We got your good news and we got your bad news:
lots of nekkid women, some of them in girl-girl coupling
of the lightest sort, but a sound track that is mainly
voice-over, akin to Penthouse Letters written with less
subtlety and skill. That shit is painful to hear,
much like listening to your redneck brother-in-law go on
and on with “everyone knows” this and “alls I know”
that.
Illegal Affairs

Illegal Affairs is the better of the
two from a purely Funhouse point of view because it
has veterans
a tragically seldom-used Sheila
Redgate,
a gal named Cyndi Lewis
and a one-time-wonder named Augusta Lane.
One last woman, a brunette, plays a character named
Clarice Robbins, but nowhere – not in the credits,
not in IMDb – is the actress named. Oh, the
sadness, the horror.
Brief Affair
1993

Brief Affair has a group of B- and Z-list
exploitation stars that includes
Lisa Hazelhurst and Deborah Dutch frolic together
with a guy in one scene and with Anastasia in
another.
Cyndi Lewis shows up again to complete her career
in Hollywood
and so does a one-timer named Jessica Morgan (thanks
to Tuna for identifying her).
Tuna also identified three women in a harem – the
only thing I did here was provide the clip of that
scene.
So, fine – not sure why I bought this disc years
ago, but I grabbed the only things worth watching in
this quartet of Michael Paul Girard creations, and
now all of us can go on with our lives.
