The Most Fun You Can Have Dying is 2012 New Zealand movie where 25 year-old Michael (Matt Whelan) is told he's going to die and he doesn't take well, so he decides to live it up. When $200,000 is donated to him for an experimental treatment in America, he decides instead to steal the money and go out with a big bang, living it up in Hong Kong, then all over Europe. After getting beaten up in Paris, he meets Sylvie (Roxane Mesquida), a lost soul and they find common ground and eventually fall in love, of sorts. Then after an incident, it all comes crashing down for Michael and he is forced to live his final day exactly how he doesn't want to. Ha ha, fuck that, he goes out his way. Interesting to see a movie where a character takes the path less travelled for once and almost cops out in the end but thankfully doesn't. There's no real sympathy for Michael, he's going out the way he wanted and even when Sylvie becomes a road bump in those plans, he at least finds someone with similar sensibilities. French actress Roxane Mesquida is well cast as the aloof lost soul; a scene where she has a miscarriage is incredibly bizarre and probably only could've been pulled off by Roxane.

Pretty good but definitely not for everyone.
