Battlestar Galactica: The Plan

Although I won't claim to be a rabid Battlestar Galactica fan, I did
watch quite a few episodes of the Sci-Fi Network's 2004 "re-envisioned"
remake of the 1978 Sci-Fi classic TV series, and liked it. The series
lasted four seasons and included a mini-series and a couple of specials.
Now in 2009 comes a straight-to-DVD movie that, I suspect, will inspire
howls of outrage from series fans.
Basically, they took the three years of series footage and specials
plus some outtakes, and chopped out pieces that they strung together to
form a movie. It looks like what it is ... pieced-together scenes that
leave out tremendous parts of the plot, do no character development, and I
suspect will make absolutely zero sense to anyone who hasn't seen the
series. First-time watchers won't have a clue who anyone is or what import
they have to the story.
A real disappointment, in my mind, even though they threw in some very
brief nudity that had probably previously wound up on the cutting room
floor. The caps are from the Blu-ray version.
