"The Last Motel" (1996)

The Last Motel (1996) is the third story on the Luscious Lola Red Shoe Diaries DVD. The setup has some potential. A sailor on a carrier in the Persian Gulf send videos to 4 different women inviting them to meet him at a motel in Long Beach, CA. When he gets there, all 4 women have shown up, and one even brought a friend. They could have had a lot of fun with his juggling of all of the women in the same motel, but they didn't. They had him service each of the women serially. Not only that, but they added a totally unrelated thread of a couple staying in the same motel, who are trying to put the heat back in their relationship.

There really is no plot here, and no real tie-in to the Red Shoe Diaries theme of a women betraying her man. This is far from the best in the series.

This quote is not embellished in any way, and I didn't make it up. It is quoted directly from USA Today, in a sports story about the Nov 19th Maracuba Marathon in Havana, which was run in the heat of an 85 degree day.

"Water stops weren't spaced evenly along the course. Chunks of ice hacked into three-foot blocks quickly dwindled on contact with runners' beet-red faces, sunburned arms and overheated chests. Many aid stations were abandoned when they ran out of water or their block of ice melted.

Car exhaust from big-finned 1950's Chevrolets, Plymouths and Dodges also proved a hazard, especially in a country without emissions standards. 'A bus pulled out and I ran into a big, black, thick cloud of exhaust, then it slowly drove ahead of me so I caught a constant stream', said Dennis Aslett, 51, the first American to cross the finish in 3:41:05.

The country's deep poverty was evident at the finish line where organizers ran out of both water and medals."

Note: that time is not a misprint, even though marathons are usually run in about two and a half hours.

    Charlie's site is updated

I rented The Man With The Golden Gun, which was the one Bond movie I had never seen. It's not an especially good movie, much too jokey for my taste, actually almost as much of a parody as Casino Royale. There's a dumbass American tourist who keeps falling in the canals in Thailand. There's a scene where Bond watches with detached amusement as two twelve year old girls dispose of an entire class at a karate school. I another scene, Bond gets the crap kicked out of him by Tattoo from Fantasy Island. Luckily, as Tattoo is about to kill Bond, the owner of the estate insists that the murder must not occur on his property, so they take Bond away to be killed (as usual) - by the kids in the karate school - the same ones who couldn't handle the twelve year old girls. There is one funny scene in the school. As Bond squares off to face the school's champion, they face each other for the traditional bow. As the opponent is bowing, Roger Moore skips the bow and kicks the guy in the head, knocking him out like a light.

On the other hand, I stumbled into an actual exposed nipple from an actual known performer (Maud Adams), with no tricks or filters or anything, so I snapped it off. (It's almost impossible to notice it at regular speed. You have to watch the entire scene frame-by-frame even to know it is there.) The Bond page has been updated to include a complete summary of the nudity in the series, and Tuna's capsule summary of each.

Two more episodes of The Hunger, both very dark and with very arty lighting in the nude scenes. The one episode with Blackburn and Thompson is yet another retelling of The Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge, so everything in the episode is in a lingering dream-like state. Disappointing.

The Brady Home Movie project doesn't have any real flesh, but it is pretty unnerving to see Florence Henderson in a bathing suit, bending over and spreading her legs as wide as she could go. I enjoyed watching the Brady DVD, although I didn't expect to. These people obviously loved each other a lot, and really became a family during the run of the show. Their tribute to the late Robert Reed - who really became the surrogate dad for all of them - was genuine, spontaneous, and very touching. Reed is gone, and the two older girls have kind of grown apart from the group, but Henderson, Ann B Davis, and the other four kids, still interact like a family unit.

In hearing them discuss each other and their times on the show, it's obvious that the show became their real life, and that they remembered that life very fondly. The "hook" of the DVD is that Robert Reed gave everyone an 8 mm camera for Christmas one year, and the films they made are the original material shown in this DVD, along with "where are they now?" segments on everyone, and various interviews and discussions with the group and individuals.

Susan Olsen (the youngest Brady daughter) produced the show.

Three more European music videos with unidentified starlets, from TomCat. The Rolling Stones, Jaques Dutronc, and Johnny Hallyday. The woman in the Hallyday video is a fox, whoever she is.

    Anette Andersen
    (1, 2)
Let us begin in Europe with Anette Andersen, who appeared in just about every Swedish magazine prone to showing nekkid women during the 80's.

Isabelle Chaudieu Perhaps more famous but definitely less exposed is Isabelle Chaudieu, Miss France 1985 and sometime actress. These scans have been sitting in a mislabeled part of my hardrive for a very long time.

Janna Svensson A bunnymagmate a while ago; the picture comes from the Swedish contribution to the semi-nude men's magazine craze that has swept the Western world, and it proves as well as any that clothed and sexy are not mutually exclusive.

Giselle Bundchen Bopping over to this hemisphere we have Giselle posing in a pic that had an ugly fat guy (and seemed to imply that prostitution is just another career choice) before the editor took over.

Cheryl Crow Closer to home, Cheryl stepped out of the house wearing this. Looks like an outfit a Tibetan monk would wear... except for the obvious.

Louise Werner Back across the pond we have paparazzi scans of another singer, Louise Werner, with as dramatic a case of the pokies as you or I will see for a while.

Kate Moss Staying put for a moment, there is Kate Moss. Okay, I admit it: I like the way Kate Moss looks and this pic is particularly attractive.

Marilyn Monroe And finally, after travelling in at least two dimensions, let us end with la prima babe of all time: Marilyn Monroe. She and Bob Gibson were born much too early. Have them enter the world in 1975 and she would command millions to pose and act in the buff whereas he would frigging own the Yankees, what with the salary he would get to go 25-4 with an ERA 1.19. Oh, the humanity.
    Schmutzfink
    Theresa Russell
    (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
Only one actress this week, but nude scenes from 5 different movies!
  • #1 Going all the way back to one of her first movies. Breast exposure from 1978's "Straight Time"
  • #2 Fast forward a few years to breast exposure from 1991's "Cold Heaven"
  • #3 More topless exposure, plus a shower scene from 1994's "The Flight of the Dove"
  • #4 More aquatic fun...this time in scenes from 1995's "Trade Off".
  • #5 Finally, jumping back in time to 1986 for some boob and bum exposure from "Black Widow"
  • Dann
Anne Heche Dann's salute to lesbians...some real, some part-time, and some just acting. First up, Anne in the Tub in "If These Walls Could Talk".
Sharon Stone and Ellen DeGeneres Gettin' it on in scenes from "If These Walls Could Talk 2". Actually, not a bad movie, despite seeing DeGeneres partially naked. Actually this segment you can skip if you see the movie, but I highly recommend the first 2 parts.
Michelle Williams and Chloe Sevigny More 'sisterly love' from "If These Walls Could Talk 2".

Both Tuna and Scoop have covered and reviewed "...Talk 2" (on 10/12 and 10/15 respectively). Now that I think about it, this movie may be something of a rarity...it seems that in additiona to the three of us liking it, we have almost identical opinions. To quote Paul Shaffer...."nutty".
