lovely looking

El
Artista y La Modelo
(2012)
Johnny's
comments:
El
Artista y La Modelo
(The Artist and the
Model) is a drama
about an aging
French artist Marc
Cros (Jean
Rochefort) who is
inspired to make one
last masterpiece
when his wife Léa
(Claudia Cardinale,
good to see her
still in movies)
spies a displaced
Spanish refugee
Mercè (Aida Folch)
living on the
streets and takes
her home to help her
out. Mercè agrees to
nude model for the
sculptor, who
becomes inspired
like he hasn't for a
long time.
Not
a lot to the movie,
a bit like a compact
La Belle Noiseuse
(with a young
Emmanuelle Béart,
yummy), mostly about
the artistic process
and the relationship
between the model
and artist. There's
a little bit of
political intrigue,
but not enough to
make a big deal
about. El Artista y
La Modelo is an OK
movie that is best
suited for those
interested in the
artistic process,
everyone else will
probably find it
boring
