Cherry Falls

2000

Had never seen Cherry Falls before, from memory it was released straight-to-DVD here. It's a surprisingly good if generic slasher horror movie where someone is killing the virgins at a high school, so word gets around about this and everyone loses their head and the kids have a big sex party to 'save' themselves, of course that's not the reason why the killer is killing, it's just plain old revenge.

Australian director Geoffrey Wright of Romper Stomper fame directed this movie. He has directed only one movie since Cherry Falls, 2006's Macbeth, so it's been 10 years since his last movie which is a shame as even if his movies have issues, they're at least worth a look. Cherry Falls is one of the better slasher movies to come from that late 90s renaissance.
